COVID- 19 GUIDELINES FOR IN-PERSON WORSHIP

COVID-19 GUIDELINES:

Here are some things you can expect (or not expect) when, and if, you return to our sanctuary:

1. First, and most importantly, we recommend that all folks who are in the most vulnerable group (over 65 with a "co-morbidity") continue to worship online from home until our governor clears us of all restrictions. We are most concerned for your health.

2. We will encourage folks to wear a mask inside the building.

NOTE: The pastor will not be wearing a mask during worship as it makes him very difficult to understand through the microphone.

3. We have arranged the sanctuary seating to practice social distancing.
This may mean that you can't sit in your favorite seat as it might be blocked off. This shouldn't be a problem, as we Presbyterians have a history of social distancing in worship. It might also mean you'll sit closer to the front!

4. We will minimize the opportunity to touch things in worship. Therefore, there will be no bulletins, we won't pass offering plates, we won't do our "greeting time" in our service, and we will be doing communion differently for a while.

NOTE: The scripture and outline for our Worship Services will be provided as a link with the 'Pastor's Blast' email and we will continue to make use of our video screens.
Also, there will be boxes at the entry and exit points for your tithes and offerings, and we continue to encourage online giving.

5. The congregation won't be singing hymns or praise songs for a while either. Though the CDC is changing its direction on this, we will wait for more clear guidance.
We will offer worship music from our staff and also via video.

NOTE: The Praise Team will be socially distanced in the choir loft, so there is no danger to you or each other.

6. We will not have "Fellowship Time" before or after worship for the time being. We are also encouraging folks not to hang around inside the building and talk after worship. We encourage folks to head outside if they want to talk to their friends, as the risks of infection are significantly lower.

7. Grace Presbyterian's Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinners are still on hold, but the Pastor's Bible Study has returned
to its normal schedule: Wednesdays at 6:00pm in Grace's Fellowship Hall.
All church groups should wait for session approval to resume meetings at the church.

Some will think that these parameters are too strict, and some will think it is crazy to meet at all. We have tried to strike a balance and will adjust as we see how things work. We would appreciate your patience, support, and feedback.
If you would like to share your feedback or voice any concerns, please contact the Pastor directly, as he is best positioned to address them and gossip will not help us move forward during this challenging time.

Thank you for your patience, support, and prayers!
